Signs and Lines Operative 

Salary £509.55 - £526.79 per week (additional enhancements/entitlements uplift the salary to around £600 per week

The Signs and Lines Team undertake maintenance and inspection of the Island's roads and traffic signs, and is also responsible for displaying signage for road closures, diversions and emergency works etc.  The team also undertake a range of line marking across the Island, including some private work.

Candidates must hold a category B driving licence and be able to work as part of a small team.

Overnight Driver / Loader

Salary £667 per week (under review)

This is an important role in servicing the overnight refuse and recylcing collections we deliver for the parishes of St Sampsons, Castel and St Peter Port.  As Driver / Loader you will work throughout the night and into the early hours of the morning to make sure that waste has been collected from properties within these parishes.

Master Vehicle Technician 

Salary up to £672 per week plus enhancements (under review)

The postholder will be expected to undertake a diverse range of operational activities within a stores, fleet and garage environment. This includes a wide spectrum of mechanical maintenance and repair services to equipment ranging from private cars to light and heavy commercial and specialist vehicles. The role requires knowledge of complex engine management and control systems.  You will be expected to provide leadership and direction to a small team of trained operatives in a customer focused environment.

Drainage Operative 

£528 per week (under review)

This is an important role in ensuring the Island's sewer and surface water infrastructure is maintained and serviced.  Our team undertake cleansing of the sewer and surface water systems across the Island using specialist equipment and machinery on behalf of our Clients.  Staff in this section are required to undergo training in the use of Breathing Apparatus in order to perform tasks in confined spaces, often deep underground. 

The sucessful candidate must hold a Category C driving licence.

Driver / Plant Operator - across all areas of the Business!

We are looing to recruit a number of Driver / Plant Operators across the Business to assist us in performing a range of our services.  This includes:

  • Highways Services
  • Sewage Collection Service
  • Refuse & Re-cycling (including overnight collections)

As a Driver/Plant Operator you will be deployed as necessary across the business and are required to operate multiple vehicles and specialist plant across all areas. Lead Technical Officer (Highways Services) salary up to £43,332 p/a

As the Lead Technical Officer you will be the expert on site in providing support, advice and guidance to a team of operatives undertaking road resurfacing and repair work on behalf of our Client.  In leading the team, you will help ensure that work is completed on time and on specification, whilst keeping the Client updated and informed throughout the road project.

Trainee Driver / Plant Operator salary £452 - £528 (once qualified).  Salary under review

This is a fantastic opportunity for somebody who wishes to obtain their Category C driving licence.  We will provide support and assistance (including financial support) to the candidate to obtain their Category C licence.  The post holder will work across various sections, learning the operational side of the business, whilst undertaking training and development.  Once the Category C licence has been obtained, you will learn how to operate a range of plant and machinery effectively and safely across different sites.
