Health and Safety

The health, safety and wellbeing of our staff is a top priority for us at States Works.  We are committed to providing an environment where staff feel confident in undertaking their tasks in a safe and supportive environment.  

We provide a range of health and safety related courses such as:

•    Working safely
•    Manual handing
•    First aid 
•    Asbestos awareness 
•    Confined space 

We provide full personal protective equipment (PPE) relevant for the job role and have robust procedures in place for the reporting and recording of near misses and accidents.  

We have a full suite of risk assessment method statements (RAMS) and safe systems of work, to ensure our Managers and Operatives know what they need to do to keep themselves safe whilst carrying out their duties.  Regular refresher training is also arranged on the above topics.  

We also engage with the States of Guernsey Occupational Health Service in relation to fitness for work and staff health surveillance (audio and HAVS) to make sure staff stay healthy throughout the course of carrying out their duties.
